Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid 97%

Product introduction:

Linear Alkyl Benzene Sulfonic Acid 97% (LABSA 97%) is a strong anionic surfactant that appears as a brown viscous liquid. Due to its high detergency performance and compatibility with various surfactants, it is one of the most widely used synthetic surfactants in the detergent industry. LABSA is extensively used in the production of laundry powders, liquid laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids, and multipurpose cleaners.

Features & Benefits:

  • Surfactant
  • Emulsifier
  • High detergency and degreasing performance
  • Good and Stable foam generation
  • Compatible with various surfactants
  • High thermal and chemical stability
  • Good biodegradability

Applications:

  • Detergent Industry: Due to its excellent detergency, degreasing and emulsifying properties, this material is used in the production of various detergents including laundry powders, liquid laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids and multipurpose cleaners.
  • Lubricants & Metalworking: Used as an emulsifier in the production of water-soluble industrial oils, lubricants, metalworking fluids and cutting oils.
  • Textile & Dyeing Industry: Used as a detergent and dispersing agent to promote the uniform distribution of dyes on textile fibers.
  • Polymer & Resin Industry: Used as a catalyst in the production of certain ion-exchange resins and in some polymerization processes.
  • Electroplating & Metal Treatment Industry: Used as a cleaning and degreasing agent in cleaning solutions, prior to electroplating or surface preparation processes to improve coating adhesion and final quality. Its derivatives may also be used as minor additives in electroplating baths.
  • Other Applications: Used as an acid catalyst in industrial chemical reactions such as esterification (production of esters, solvents, and fragrances) and alkylation (production of chemical intermediates). It is also used as a precursor in the synthesis of para-Toluenesulfonic acid (PTSA), which is a widely used acid catalyst.
